Position Summary,

The primary responsibilities of the Director, Information Technology are to strategically plan, implement, staff, and oversee company-wide business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes all network, server, and voice infrastructures. This position is responsible for all IT programs and projects established and executed to help maximize the benefit of technology investments in support of profitable business plans.

Principal Accountabilities
1. Infrastructure Planning: Plans and implements additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure company-wide in coordination with corporate leadership. Anticipates future network needs, identifies proactive solutions to satisfy needs.

2. Telecom Management: Oversees the planning and management of the company's telephone system and manages company-wide upgrade efforts.

3. Network Security: Oversees the implementation of network security at the corporate level.

4. Vendor and Budget Management: Establishes and builds relationships with vendors in conjunction with corporate leadership. Oversees all IT-related purchasing and budget usage; works with accounting to develop budgets.

5. Employee Performance and Development: Participates in all programs and enforces all policies relating to performance evaluations and career development planning. Reviews management evaluations for consistency. Impresses upon management the importance of the career planning and performance evaluation programs. Creates an environment where Innovators can successfully achieve professional career path goals. Manages the development of project managers and senior managers. Assigns tasks to practice management that give managers an opportunity to grow.

6. Other Duties: Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces. Enforces standard Company policies and procedures

Professional Qualifications/Required Skills of the Position:

Education and/or Experience: College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and 10-20 years related work experience.
Proven corporate IT leadership experience. Working knowledge of industry current programming languages. Working knowledge of network, server and PC operating systems, including Windows, UX, Linux. Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards. Experience with enterprise and core software applications. Demonstrated program and project management skills. Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

Communication: Ensures department is well informed, at all times, of changes and news worthy events within the company. Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to superiors.
Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual. Promotes the company through speaking engagements at industry conferences and involvement in local business organizations.

Management: Exercises staff oversight to ensure new operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives. Holds responsibility for IT staffing and budgeting projections on a company-wide basis.

Teamwork: Reinforces team approach for all projects and internal initiatives. Supports and solicits input from team members at all levels within the organization. Ensures periodic and regular team events take place away from the office. Client Management: Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies. Continually defines ways to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships. Maintains lasting internal client relationships.
